Nominations are now being accepted for a position on the Marching Mizzou Alumni Band Board of Directors for a term beginning January 1, 2023. If you are interested in nominating someone or if you wish to self-nominate, everyone being nominated must fill out a BACKGROUND INFORMATION FORM located here. This form must be received by 11:59 pm on August 17. No one can appear on the ballot without submitting the information form by the above deadline.

The Marching Mizzou Alumni Band Board of Directors is a group of eleven M2 alumni who promote the interests, abilities, and efforts of Marching Mizzou alumni for fellowship among members and prospective members and to provide services to its alumni constituency and the University. The M2AB is organized to encourage alumni to support the University’s School of Music and Marching Mizzou.

The M2AB Board of Directors have the following responsibilities:

  • Helps organize the m2ab performance at Homecoming–registration, t-shirts/polos, game day meals, instruments, etc.

  • Hosts a Reunion Weekend event the Friday before Homecoming.

  • Hosts an annual business meeting with M2AB members to provide an update on what we’ve done during the past year.

  • Provides scholarships to Marching Mizzou students.

  • Caters meals for Marching Mizzou prior to Concert on the Quad and potentially other times as funds allow.

  • Recruits Marching Mizzou alumni members to join the Mizzou Alumni Association.

  • Raises funds to help raise money for scholarships and Marching Mizzou trips.

The only requirements for serving on the Board are:

  • must have been a member of Marching Mizzou for at least one semester, and

  • must have an interest in the University of Missouri, the University’s School of Music, and Marching Mizzou.

The election will take place during online registration for Homecoming. Everyone who registers and pays their activity fee for Homecoming 2022 will receive a private link to the ballot. The person(s) receiving the highest number of votes shall be elected Directors according to the number of positions to be filled. For example, if there are 3 vacancies to be filled, the top 3 vote-getters will be elected. In the event of a tie, the person who submitted his/her information form first shall be elected.
