Marching Mizzou Alumni Band

Homecoming 2018 is the weekend of Oct. 19-20 as THE Tigers take on some other Tigers—it’s Mizzou versus Memphis. Please join us to participate in the pre-game performance and cheer on OUR Tigers. Or, if you cannot attend or are unable to march, please register as either a Virtual Marcher or a Distinguished Marcher. Either way, we want your support.

Registration is NOW CLOSED.

If you only need to purchase football tickets, click here.

GAME TICKETS

There is a HUGE change in the process for purchasing game tickets. THE ALUMNI BAND WILL NOT BE SELLING TICKETS FOR THE GAME, but we have arranged a special group rate for tickets in the lower bowl just to the left of Marching Mizzou in section BB. Tickets are $55 each and MUST BE PURCHASED DIRECTLY FROM THE MIZZOU TICKET OFFICE. There is a link on the registration page to purchase tickets. You can purchase as many tickets at this special rate as you would like. If you have already registered and only need to purchase football tickets, click here.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO PURCHASE A GAME TICKET TO MARCH AT PREGAME. WE WILL EXIT THE STADIUM AFTER OUR PERFORMANCE AND YOU MAY THEN RE-ENTER WITH A GAME TICKET OR ENJOY THE REST OF THE DAY AT YOUR LEISURE.

CHECK-IN

Check-in will be at the Marching Mizzou practice field at 8:30am(click on image to enlarge)

For those who have registered, simply pick up your name tag and Alumni Band polo shirt, if you don’t have one from previous years.  We’ll also provide fruit, water, drinks, and snacks at check-in. Limited numbers of large instruments (ONLY sousaphones, baritones, mellophones, drums) and flags will be available to borrow that day. You will need to bring your own mouthpiece or drumsticks if using a University instrument.

You should register as a Virtual Marcher if you are unable to attend Homecoming. You should register as a Distinguished Marcher if you plan on attending any of the Homecoming activities, but are unable to march in the pre-game show and you still want to join us down on the field. In either case, you will be supporting the ongoing activities of the M2AB.

PARKING and SHUTTLE

Parking near the stadium, Hearnes Center and the practice field (southeast of Hearnes on the road to the university president’s house) is nearly impossible to do unless you’re a season ticket holder and a donor to the Tiger Scholarship Fund. The closest parking garage is Parking Structure #7 on Hospital Drive across the street from University Hospital.  Parking fee there is $30.

Due to the lack of affordable parking near the stadium, M2AB will offer a FREE shuttle for marchers and their families from the west side of the Virginia Avenue Garage directly to the practice field. There is FREE parking in that garage.

The shuttle will run on a continuous loop beginning at 8:00 a.m. with the last run at 8:45 a.m. Do not park on the street in a metered spot as meters are enforced all day on Saturday. Any questions, contact Bill Moyes (573) 268-1086. THERE IS NO RETURN SHUTTLE AFTER THE GAME!!

REHEARSAL

Rehearsal will be at the M2 practice field southeast of the Hearnes Center beginning at 9:00 a.m.  Alcoholic beverages are not permitted during rehearsal and children are not allowed on the field during our performance at the stadium.

LUNCH and BUSINESS MEETING

The business meeting will be held at the Hearnes Center before the game. After everyone has food, we meet to review the weekend, discuss plans, and elect board members for 2018-19.

INSTRUMENTS AND INSTRUMENT CASES

University-owned instruments will need to be returned after pregame.

After lunch and the business meeting, you may leave your instrument case in the Marching Mizzou area at the Hearnes Center near where we will be meeting. Nothing of any real value should be left there as it will not be monitored during the game. At whatever time you decide to leave the stadium, you may retrieve your case from that area—before, during, or after the game. No instrument cases of ANY size will be allowed into the stadium, per SEC guidelines.

MUSIC

Everyone who registers will receive their music by email directly from Hadley.  If you don’t receive it soon, contact Hadley Haux by e-mail at hhaux@sbcglobal.net or by phone at (314) 521-8593.  Hadley brings few, if any, additional copies of the music to the practice field.
